		<description>Dear Eric, Kid K ,

Hope you are taking that break for real. I&#039;ve heard Koalas can burnout if they don&#039;t take the time to smell the eucalyptus : ) Hope you are spending some quite quality time with your family and in nature . I bet you have a whole sh-t load of snow and cold. We just had our first snow 3 inches the other day and it got down to 4 degrees F !

Anyway, been working away trying to get you a gig in town... local public radio would like to have you on their more experimental music shows if times permits... possibility of two fairly decent venues (see e-mails to Brad and from station manager Stacy Owen below).

Please do take time for yourself... we really enjoy your music and theatre, but you and your family are much more important.

Oh, and I told Ryhna , &quot;Give the young marsupial a &#039;man hug&#039; for me : ) &quot; and &quot;Nouvelle Année Heureuse !&quot; (Hope I didn&#039;t butcher that ?)

Peace,

Bronson

EMAILS:
Dear Brad,

Ryhna suggested that at this point I contact you (see e-mail below).

I&#039;m just a fan from Louisville, Ky who got upset he missed that the Kid was playing in Knoxville, Tn. &#039;Of all places !&#039; I thought, &#039; How the hell did that happen ? And if Knoxville why not Louisville ?&#039; I have some organizing skills (not music related) and did a little media work for Louisville&#039;s RnB guitar great, Steve Ferguson. So I posted on Nufonia about it and I was really surprised that Eric actually answered. He said he hadn&#039;t been here since Ben Harper tour and would be glad to come back ! He gave me Ryhna&#039;s email address and here we are.

To summarize the pertinent info : two main venues may be interested in Kid Koala coming to town. A musician friend of my son knows the mgnt and has talked to them. They should have his bio from the promotions site and a CD I sent them with some music of his CD&#039;s and Deltron 3030 by Friday.

The larger venue is Headliners, holds about 350 and having Tortoise in the next couple of weeks. Has had the Yeah, Yeah Yeahs and similar acts. The smaller, Uncle Pleasants, features alternative music also, has had V.A.S.T.. It is smaller 100-150 and is primarily a bar with a sizable show room adjoined. Have no idea what either pays per gig. (Venue contact info at bottom)

Don&#039;t know if there is a &#039;scene&#039; here, but record people know of him and a couple of young people I know by chance (I&#039;m an old guy, at least chronologically) both thought he&#039;s &#039;cool&#039; and would come see him.

The station manager, Stacy Owen, of the public radio station, WFPK would be interested in having him in studio if there is time. There are two shows, Sound Clash, which has electronica and varied musical styles from Dub to Autechre and FOSL... The other plays straight alternative. Getting a plug there would be a boost.

Anyway, I hope something can get worked out. It would be great to have someone as talented as Kid Koala come to town... told Ryhna that Radiohead would be the only thing to beat it.

Let me know if there is anything more I can do and thanks for checking out Louisville,

Bronson Rozier

Hi Bronson,

WFPK usually doesn’t lean in this direction, but I really like what’s on the disc you gave me. I also enjoyed watching the video links. Let me know if he comes to town and I’ll see if it coincides with a time we can have him in the studio.

Thanks,

Hi Bronson,

Thanks for all your enthusiasm. I think at this point, a good thing to do would be to be in touch with our agent, Brad Owen: brad@windishagency.com so that he can officially approach the venue.

Happy New Year!

		<description>KidK , Eric,

Thanks so much for taking the time to write and share what you&#039;re up to. &#039; A person of fine quality&#039; as the quote goes in The Lord of the Rings.

Anyway, just finished listening to the Lips album, dig it too... now this great original Columbia recording of &quot;Monk&#039;s Dream&quot;... wonderful to have so much magnificent music around. I&#039;m sure I&#039;ll be listening to you later.

I found Ryhna&#039;s address after posting.... told her I&#039;m a total amateur on this stuff... might can use my political organizing skills in finding out who to talk too and what they need. Asked Ryhna for a little promo stuff to help smooth the way. Louisville may be a longshot, but I&#039;m sure you&#039;ll be close enough sometime to see.

Keep on boppin&#039;,

		<description>Hey Bronson,

Thank you for the kind words. I&#039;ve been listening to that new Flaming Lips record a lot and really dig it. I&#039;ll have Ryhna contact you through your email about the various types of shows we have cooking up and the production requirements of each. It&#039;d be cool to get to Louisville!

These days, I&#039;ve been doing a lot of field recording and using my record cutter a lot to make custom sound effect/instrument records. I&#039;ve been getting in to the whole production/engineering side of things... old reel to reel tape machines and ribbon and tube microphones.

I&#039;ve been playing turntables through tube amps and recording them with an old RCA ribbon mic. It adds this great smoke-y sound to everything.

...trying to figure out how all of that works so I can use it on the Space Cadet and Mosquito book recordings.

Anyhow, thanks for checking in! and Ryhna will be in touch with you shortly.

<description>Glad you are having some time to chill... well deserved.

I&#039;m the character (even one might say old fart) from Louisville who didn&#039;t know about your show in Knoxville... I have a few ideas of venues in Louisville for you but need to talk people that does the business end of the joy you bring to the world. Listening to Deltron 3030 right now... rotate you in between Radiohead, Flaming Lips and FOSL these days.

Anyway, I need a ball park figure of what would make it worth while to swing by our way if you come to the mid-west or upper south.

Also, what music should I sample on a CD for the folks I approach ? your older things Carpal Tunnel, Some Best Friends, Deltron etc or the Slew ?. Hard to tell ? Wouldn&#039;t it be a bigger production to tour the Slew ?

Anyway if you could give me a name to contact.
I like the Slew, but am a jazz/electronica man myself, hope you&#039;ll go back to the jazz sometimes... Sun Ra might be fun.

Gotta tell you I fall out every time you mention sound effect records... I remember around 1957 or so sitting on the floor and listening to the train travel from one speaker to the other : ) curious , do you use actual samples from then or have someone do it now?

Anyway take some time, breathe , smile and look around enjoy your baby, the world and life.

Peace,
