Music to Draw to… part III. It was a lovely evening… thank you to everyone who came down to join us at Theatre Ste. Catherine for the third and final Music to Draw soiree in Montreal. We’ve been asked by many if we will continue doing this event. We had so much fun with it I think it may become a sort of winter time tradition for us. There are some nice photos from the events in a previous post if you missed them. We have also been approached about bringing this event to other cities. We are very excited about that idea… just trying to work out where we’ll get all the drawing desks and toaster ovens… we will keep you posted.
That being said… summer is rapidly approaching and it’s time to put the quiet time records away… and to exchange them for the “party” box of vinyl. I will be doing some gigs in the U.S. at the end of March and April… we have confirmed shows in New York, Chicago, Denver, San Francisco, Orlando, Chapel Hill, and San Diego… please click on the “tour” section in the menu for more details about dates and venues…
Loud… the Slew album is now finished and in the artwork stage…. Looking at a late summer release.
Quiet… the Space Cadet book and Soundtrack is slowly coming together… one page at a time. Today is Page 80.
Also, I’ve just signed on to produce an album for a very talented songwriter named Terence Bernardo. Two months ago he played me some demos of 14 amazingly depressing songs he’d written. We will be in the studio this week starting to track them.
That’s about it for now… thank you for checking in…

Hey Koala! I’m way excited that you’re coming to Chapel Hill – I’m a DJ for our university radio at UNC, and play you on the radio (esp your carpal tunnel syndrome album) quite a bit. I’ve got a request for when you come – will you play your version of “Moon River”? It’s one of my favorite pieces by you. Thanks brother! Have fun on the tour, see you here.

It would be awesome to see the Music To Draw to hit SF. Our SF Cartoonist Conspiracy is going strong, but there several other cartooning/illustrator groups that we could work with too to guarantee a big turnout.

Hello Mr. Koala! Thank you so much for your time and show yesterday/last night. Even with the country music background, being able to speak with you at dinner was fantastic, and I really appreciate it. I’m glad “Carolina Sky” was a hit, and of course I hope you were pleased with the sample-box-button pushing..

Hey Doctor Popular,
Music to Draw to… SF would be great. What’s your shortlist of rooms/venues for this kind of event in that town?
let us know… we’ll start looking in to it…
